Every year on the 18th of July, South Africans and global citizens pause to remember the legacy of Tata Nelson Mandela — a legacy built on justice, dignity, and relentless service to humanity.
This year, we carried forward his words:
> “It’s still in our hands to combat poverty and inequality.”
At PrimeStar Group, we made those hands count. Across two cities, our teams took action in ways that brought warmth, joy, and upliftment where it was needed most.
Cape Town: Restoring Dignity, One Act at a Time

In Killarney Gardens, Cape Town, our office team stepped out — cleaning the streets and surrounding areas, reminding ourselves that the spaces we occupy are part of the communities we serve.
Alongside that, we handed out blankets to individuals in need, bringing both warmth and compassion to those facing winter without shelter or support.
Durban: Feeding Bodies and Lifting Spirits
In Durban, our team showed up in vibrant style — organizing a joyful event for children, complete with jumping castles, games, and laughter. It was a day where kids could be kids — running, playing, and laughing freely.

But we didn’t stop there. Volunteers from the PrimeStar family prepared and served hearty, home-cooked meals, offering nourishment and care to every person who walked through.

A Shared Legacy, A Shared Responsibility

What we did may seem small — a broom, a blanket, a cooked meal — but when done with intention and unity, these acts carry the weight of hope.
This Mandela Day, PrimeStar Group reminded ourselves and others that we all have a role to play. Whether you're on-site or in the streets, whether you're giving time or giving warmth — what you do matters.
Together, we continue to build. Together, we continue to serve.
Together, we honour Mandela’s call — because it’s still in our hands.
